True Life FC stun Hearts of Oak in MTN FA Cup, progress to Round of 32
12-time FA Cup winners Accra Hearts of Oak suffered a shocking exit from the MTN FA Cup, as lower-league side True Life snatched a dramatic 1-0 win at the death.
The Phobians dominated large chunks of the game but lacked composure in the final third. As the game remained goalless, True Life grew in confidence, and their patience paid off.
Deep into the second half, a rare attack was finished clinically, silencing the Hearts supporters and sending the True Life bench into raptures. Hearts pushed hard for an equalizer in the six added minutes, but True Life’s brave defending and Hearts’ wasteful finishing sealed the upset.
At full-time, Hearts of Oak posted: “It is finished. We are out,” capturing the disappointment of fans and players after a day that promised much but ended in frustration.
