Asamoah Gyan advises CAF African Schools Championship players to take education serious

African football legend Asamoah Gyan has called on young players competing in the CAF African Schools Football Championship Ghana 2025 to place strong emphasis on their education while nurturing their football skills.
Speaking in Accra after the official draw for the tournament, the former Ghana captain praised CAF and its President, Dr. Patrice Motsepe, for creating a unique platform that combines football with educational growth.
Gyan joined several African football greats invited to grace the championship, which runs from April 23 to 26 at the University of Ghana.
“This is a great initiative and kudos to CAF and the President. I think it will take African football to even greater heights. I’m looking forward to seeing the talent, but more importantly, I want to stress that education is the key,” Gyan said. “They should focus on their education and let it support their natural talent.”
The tournament brings together U-15 boys and girls from CAF’s Zonal Unions. Ahead of the matches, CAF has rolled out educational workshops aimed at empowering various football stakeholders as part of its youth development strategy.
