Virtual Infosec Africa partners Exabeam to launch Africa’s first subscription-based cybersecurity Service

Virtual Infosec Africa (VIA), in partnership with global cybersecurity leader LogRhythm (now Exabeam), has introduced the continent’s first subscription-based Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) service.

The initiative is expected to reshape how Ghanaian businesses, government agencies, and utilities defend their digital infrastructure, offering enterprise-grade protection at an affordable monthly rate.

The launch comes at a critical moment. According to Check Point Software Technologies, Africa recorded the world’s highest average number of cyberattacks per organisation in the first quarter of 2025, with an alarming 3,286 attacks per week.

In Ghana, critical sectors such as energy, finance, telecommunications, and public services have increasingly come under threat, with INTERPOL’s African Cyberthreat Assessment 2024 warning that nearly one in five successful breaches disrupted core business operations.

Lowering the Cost Barrier

For many small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), deploying robust cybersecurity systems has long been financially out of reach.

VIA’s new model seeks to change this by allowing organisations to spread costs over time while benefiting immediately from AI-powered threat detection, monitoring, and compliance tools.

“We see this as a breakthrough for SMEs in Ghana. They’ve long been exposed to threats without the means to defend themselves. Now, they can access the same technology used by global corporations without the financial strain,” said Emmanuel Asiedu Sekyere, Founder and CEO of VIA, a wholly Ghanaian-owned firm.

Hosted at VIA’s managed security facility at the National Information Technologies Agency (NITA) in Accra and powered by Exabeam’s next-generation platform, the service offers real-time threat detection and response capabilities.

It is tailored to local industry needs and comes with pre-financing options to encourage adoption.

National Security Implications

The implications extend beyond private businesses. As Ghana accelerates the digitisation of public services and expands its digital economy, access to affordable, advanced cybersecurity tools becomes a matter of national importance.

“This isn’t just a business solution; it’s a national safeguard. We’re helping build a digitally secure Ghana, one subscription at a time,” Mr Asiedu emphasised.

He further explained that reducing the risk of cyber incidents also supports business sustainability by protecting customer trust, ensuring operational continuity, and avoiding costly recovery processes.

“For startups and growing enterprises, this could mean the difference between survival and collapse in the face of a cyberattack,” he said.

A Timely Intervention

The subscription model represents a timely response to one of the most pressing challenges of the digital age.

With Ghanaian organisations increasingly embracing digital transformation, VIA and Exabeam’s partnership ensures that businesses large or small are not left exposed to escalating cyber threats. “Cybercriminals don’t wait, and now, Ghana doesn’t have to either,” Mr Asiedu added.
