Use our full name – Tourism Ministry warns

The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts (MoTCCA) has officially clarified its name, putting an end to confusion over how it is referenced in public discourse and media reports.

In a press release signed by the Head of Public Relations, Mabel Delassie Awuku, the Ministry emphasized that its correct and legally recognized name is the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts (MoTCCA).

The clarification comes in response to the increasing use of inconsistent references to the Ministry in media stories and public communications.

These include alternative labels that exclude or misrepresent the “Creative Arts” component, an integral part of the Ministry’s renewed mandate.

“The Ministry’s name reflects its comprehensive mandate to integrate the creative arts industry as a vital pillar of Ghana’s cultural and tourism development agenda. It also aligns with the Ministry’s original name at its inception,” the statement said.

MoTCCA is calling on all media houses, government agencies, civil society organizations, and the general public to update their records and use the correct name in all official references.

According to the Ministry, this clarification is not only necessary for brand and institutional consistency, but also critical to honoring the role of the creative arts sector in national development.

The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to advancing Ghana’s tourism potential, preserving cultural heritage, and promoting the creative industries as powerful tools for economic growth and global recognition.

The release also appealed to stakeholders to adhere to the correct designation going forward and reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to promoting the country’s tourism industry.

“We remain committed to promoting Ghana’s rich tourism, cultural heritage, and creative industries in line with the vision of national development and cultural pride,” the statement added.
