Fatawu Issahaku ranked second in most tackles won in EPL after three games

By Lukman MUMIN, Accra

Black Stars forward Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has emerged as one of the top performers in the Premier League, ranking joint-second for tackles won after just three games.

Despite being attacking-minded, the 20-year-old has impressed with his defensive contributions at Leicester City, where he has won 14 tackles in the Foxes’ opening fixtures.

His defensive prowess matches Fulham’s left-back Antonee Robinson, making Fatawu the only attacker among the top performers.

Nottingham Forest midfielder Ibrahim Sangare, Crystal Palace right-back Daniel Munoz, and Tottenham centre-back Cristian Romero all follow with nine tackles each, while Sean Longstaff and Kobbie Mainoo round out the top with eight tackles.

Issahaku, who initially joined Leicester City on loan from Sporting CP, played a key role in helping the team regain Premier League status and has since signed a permanent deal.

The winger started for the Black Stars in their recent AFCON qualifiers, featuring in the 1-0 loss to Angola and the 1-1 draw against Niger.

As the international break concludes, Abdul Fatawu will aim to maintain his strong form when Leicester City returns to Premier League action.
