Holy Stars coach Augustine Adotey abandons post

By Victor Kwawu

‎Basake Holy Stars have been left without their substantive head coach after Augustine Evans Adotey abruptly abandoned his role following the club’s league defeat to Hearts of Oak in early November.

‎Adotey, who previously managed Medeama SC, went absent without notice after the 2-1 home loss, leaving assistant coach Rashad Musah to take charge of the team. Under Musah’s interim leadership, Holy Stars have recorded one win and two defeats.

‎Basake Holy Stars have endured a difficult start to the season, with only one win, three draws, and six losses from their first ten matches. They sit 17th on the table, five points from safety.

‎Holy Stars now turn their attention to Wednesday’s outstanding week three fixture against unbeaten Asante Kotoko at the AAK II Arena.

‎Speaking ahead of the match, interim coach Rashad Musah expressed confidence in the team’s approach. “We’re approaching the game just like we approached the last three matches that we played. We played well against Gold Stars, Karela United, and Vision FC, even though we didn’t get the nine points that we wanted,” he told Holy Stars TV.

‎Musah added that the team must maintain the same work ethic and mentality to boost their survival hopes.
