Arteta wants Partey to stay at Arsenal

Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta has expressed his desire to keep midfielder Thomas Partey at the club.
The Ghana international’s contract runs out this summer, having joined the English giants in 2020 from Atletico Madrid on a five-year deal.
The experienced midfielder has been linked with Barcelona, Juventus, and Saudi Pro League clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.
Speaking ahead of Arsenal’s final game of the season, Arteta said, “In regards to Thomas [Partey], consistency-wise, it’s been his best season. I think the way he’s played, performed, his availability has been exceptional, and he’s a really important player for us. Yeah (I want him to stay),” he added.
Partey has played 51 games this campaign—the most he has played for Arsenal in a single season—after enduring an injury-riddled spell at the London club. He has scored four goals.
The 31-year-old will hope to continue his impressive form when Arsenal travel to face Southampton at St. Mary’s on Sunday.
