GACL Opens Overflow Car Park at Kotoka International Airport for Christmas Travel Season

The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has announced the opening of an overflow car park at Kotoka International Airport (KIA) to accommodate the expected surge in passenger traffic during the Christmas travel season.

In a statement released on Monday, December 15, 2025, via its official Facebook page, GACL said the additional parking facility is located adjacent to the existing Terminal 3 (T3) car park and provides about 300 extra parking bays. The measure is aimed at improving convenience for passengers and visitors using the airport during the festive period.

The company stated that parking attendants will be stationed along access routes to guide motorists to the overflow parking areas as they approach the airport. This is intended to ensure smooth traffic flow and reduce congestion, particularly during the busy Christmas period.

GACL emphasized that the opening of the overflow car park forms part of its efforts to enhance customer experience and better manage increased vehicular traffic at the airport. The company reaffirmed its commitment to improving airport services, stating that it remains focused on serving the needs of passengers during peak travel periods and beyond.

Passengers and visitors are expected to benefit from the additional parking space, which complements the existing Terminal 3 facility. GACL’s initiative is part of its broader commitment to ensuring efficient operations and providing convenience to all airport users during one of the busiest travel seasons of the year.
