Ghanaians get up to 50% more value on DStv from October 1

Ghanaian DStv subscribers are set for a major boost in value beginning October 1, 2025, following a new agreement between the Government of Ghana and MultiChoice Africa.

Minister for Communications, Samuel Nartey George, announced the development at a press briefing in Accra on Monday, September 29, after extensive engagements with the pay-TV provider.

“MultiChoice Africa has committed to roll out an unprecedented increased value offer only in Ghana, giving subscribers between 33 per cent to 50 per cent more value, depending on the package they use. This means Ghanaians will get more services for less, and the offer is unmatched anywhere else in Africa,” Mr. George explained.

Under the new plan, all existing and new customers will be automatically upgraded to higher packages while continuing to pay their current subscription fees.

Pady bouquet subscribers paying GHS59 will be upgraded to the Access bouquet valued at GHS99, gaining 35 extra channels, a 40 per cent saving while Access bouquet customers paying GHS99 will move to the Family bouquet worth GHS190, enjoying 19 additional channels and 48 per cent savings.

Family package users paying GHS190 will advance to the Compact bouquet priced at GHS380, gaining 22 more channels, including live football matches, a 50 per cent saving and Compact bouquet subscribers paying GHS380 will upgrade to Compact Plus (GHS570) with 12 more channels and 33 per cent savings.

Also, Compact Plus customers at GHS570 will be upgraded to the Premium bouquet valued at GHS865, adding 18 more channels and 34 per cent savings.

Premium customers, who already pay GHS865, will continue to enjoy the full package but will also be automatically entered into a competition to win an all-expenses-paid trip to watch selected English Premier League matches, subject to terms and conditions.

The Minister emphasised that there will be no restrictions on the bouquet a subscriber chooses, and the offer applies to both new and existing customers. Mr. George lauded the arrangement as a direct response to subscriber concerns, underscoring government’s commitment to ensuring that Ghanaian consumers receive greater value for their entertainment spending. shouldn’t it be value in the headline
