Sulemana Set for Cagliari Return on Loan

Black Stars midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana is on the verge of rejoining Cagliari on loan for the remainder of the 2025/26 season, pending an official announcement before the close of the January transfer window.
The Ghanaian international is close to completing a temporary move back to his former club after struggling for regular playing time at Bologna, whom he joined last summer from rivals Atalanta on a permanent deal.
Since arriving in Bologna, the 22-year-old has found opportunities limited, managing just four appearances across competitions this season. His lack of game time sparked interest from several Serie A sides, including Genoa, Cagliari and Sassuolo.
However, Sulemana has opted for a return to Cagliari, where he previously enjoyed a more prominent role, as he seeks consistent minutes to revive his career and strengthen his chances ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
During the 2023/24 season, Sulemana made 24 appearances for Cagliari, scoring two goals, performances that earned him a move to Atalanta in 2024.
The midfielder is already in Cagliari to finalize the deal, with the club expected to confirm the move in the coming days.
