Morocco’s King Mohammed VI Accepts Invitation to Join US Led Peace Council

Morocco’s King Mohammed VI, who also serves as Chairman of the Al Quds Committee, has formally accepted an invitation from United States President Donald Trump to become a founding member of a new Peace Board. The initiative, announced by the U.S. leader, is designed to strengthen peace efforts in the Middle East while offering a fresh approach to resolving conflicts across the globe.
The Peace Board will be composed of a select group of internationally recognised leaders committed to building a secure and prosperous future for generations to come. According to officials, the invitation extended to King Mohammed VI reflects international recognition of his enlightened leadership, his stature as a key actor in peace diplomacy, and the trust he enjoys from both the U.S. President and the wider international community.
Welcoming President Trump’s vision for promoting peace, King Mohammed VI has agreed to ratify the founding charter of the Peace Board. The body will take the legal form of an international organisation, with a mandate to promote stability, restore governance, and ensure lasting peace in regions affected by or at risk of conflict. Its work will be guided by practical cooperation, effective action, and results oriented partnerships. Participation will be strictly by invitation from the U.S. President.
Morocco has also expressed support for the launch of the second phase of President Trump’s comprehensive peace plan, alongside the official formation of the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza, which is intended to serve as a temporary transitional body.
Under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, Morocco has consistently reaffirmed its commitment to a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace in the Middle East. This includes strong backing for the establishment of a Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, living side by side in peace with Israel.
Officials in Rabat say Morocco’s participation in the Peace Board underscores the country’s longstanding role as a bridge between cultures and regions, and its dedication to dialogue and cooperation as tools for resolving disputes. The move is expected to further elevate Morocco’s international profile as a trusted partner in global peacebuilding efforts.
