Ghana Chamber of Mines gets new CEO
The Ghana Chamber of Mines has announced a major shake-up in its leadership, appointing Ing. Dr. Kenneth Ashigbey as Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
The appointment took effect on June 1, with Ahmed Dasana Nantogmah also named Chief Operating Officer (COO), in a strategic move to bolster the Chamber’s leadership.
Dr. Ashigbey, an engineer with a proven track record across the media, technology, and infrastructure sectors, takes the helm at a pivotal time for Ghana’s mining industry. He is expected to drive the Chamber’s strategic vision, enhance policy advocacy, and boost collaboration with key stakeholders.
The newly created COO position will be filled by Mr. Nantogmah, a mining policy and corporate affairs expert, who will manage day-to-day operations and ensure seamless implementation of the Chamber’s initiatives.
President of the Chamber, Michael Edem Akafia, welcomed the appointments, calling them “a new chapter” in the Chamber’s journey. “The combined leadership of Dr. Ashigbey and Mr. Nantogmah will be critical in navigating the evolving landscape of mining and ensuring our sector remains competitive, responsible, and forward-looking,” Mr. Akafia added.
