Ghanaian music duo Keche emerged winners of the Group of the Year category at the 27th edition of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards, marking a major achievement for the award-winning pair.

The duo, made up of Joshua Kojo Ampah and Andrew Cudjoe, expressed confidence and optimism ahead of the awards ceremony during an interview with The New Finder.

Speaking before the announcement of the winners, Keche Joshua revealed that the group entered the event determined to claim the award after suffering disappointment in previous years.

“We are here to grab it. Last year we came and we were disappointed. We are just hoping and praying that today goes for us,” he said.

Keche Andrew also shared the group’s excitement about the event, stressing that beyond winning the award, they were equally eager to celebrate Ghanaian music and enjoy the performances on the night.

“Yeah man, we are here purposely for the award and secondly to enjoy. It is a great night for Ghanaian music and that is why we are here,” he stated.

According to him, the annual awards ceremony continues to unite musicians and fans while promoting the growth of the local music industry.

“Every year we see different artists and different people coming in to support Ghana music. Aside from the award, we are going to sit down, relax and enjoy the performances and all the fun that comes with it,” he added.

The duo also disclosed that they were not billed to perform during the ceremony, giving them the opportunity to fully enjoy the show and support their fellow musicians from the audience.

“We are not performing, so we are going to sit back, relax and enjoy our colleagues performing for us,” Keche Andrew noted.

Their eventual victory in the Group of the Year category was met with excitement from fans and industry players, many of whom praised the duo for their consistency and contribution to Ghana’s music scene over the years.

The 27th edition of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards featured performances from several top Ghanaian artistes and celebrated outstanding achievements within the country’s music industry.
