Ghana, China sign partnership to boost tourism and culture under 24-Hour Economy

A high-level Ghanaian delegation has concluded strategic engagements in Beijing, securing a partnership aimed at advancing the 24-Hour Economy Agenda, the Ghana Tourism Authority has announced.
Deputy CEO Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey Santana confirmed the development in a Facebook post on Tuesday, 20 January 2026.
The delegation was led by Goosie Tanoh, Presidential Advisor to the 24-Hour Economy Secretariat, following up on last year’s state visit of President John Dramani Mahama to China at the invitation of President Xi Jinping.
Under the initiative of the Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, Ghana and China signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Beijing Language and Culture University.
The agreement is designed to deepen bilateral cooperation across tourism, arts, culture, festivals, film, music, and culinary heritage.
The partnership also includes an international exhibition for Ghana in Beijing scheduled for March 2026, and lays the groundwork for a Ghana–China Research Institute for Tourism, Arts and Culture.
