SWAG swears in new executives

The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) has officially inaugurated its newly-elected executives to steer the organization for the term spanning 2023-2027.
The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Ministry of Youth and Sports Conference Room in Accra.
In a significant moment, Kwabena Yeboah, a seasoned sports journalist, was sworn in as the President, marking the commencement of his tenure. This term marks Yeboah’s third time serving as the President of SWAG, having previously dedicated eight illustrious years to the association.
The newly elected executives include Evelyn Nsiah Asare, making history as the first female Vice President of SWAG.
The executive team also features Charles Osei Asibey as General Secretary, Ken Odeng as Assistant General Secretary, Owuraku Nsiah as Treasurer, and Mavis Amanor as Women’s Commissioner.
Additionally, the executive members sworn in are Ohene Bampoe Brenya, Franklyn Anane Gyimah, and Tilda Eliman Acolor.
Albert Kwabena Dwomfuor President of the Ghana Journalist Association (GJA), commended SWAG for its past achievements during the ceremony.
He urged the association to continue upholding professionalism and emphasized the need to eliminate unprofessional elements from within the association.
In his address, Kwabena Yeboah took the opportunity to appeal to the Ministry of Youth and Sports to urgently address the hosting facilities for the upcoming All Africa Games.
He stressed the importance of timely attention to ensure successful preparations for the event, considering the limited time available.
