Stronger Private Sector Incentives to Drive Economic Growth – Deloitte

The Country Managing Partner of Deloitte Ghana, Daniel Kwadwo Owusu, has called for stronger incentives and practical policy measures to support private sector growth and accelerate Ghana’s economic transformation.

Speaking at the 10th CEO Summitbin Accra, Mr. Owusu stressed the importance of creating an enabling environment that encourages investment, innovation and expansion across key sectors of the economy.

According to him, the private sector remains central to Ghana’s development agenda and must be supported with policies that promote productivity, competitiveness and long-term sustainability.

He noted that businesses continue to face several operational challenges, making it necessary for government and stakeholders to introduce practical interventions that would stimulate growth and improve investor confidence.

Mr. Owusu explained that incentives targeted at businesses, especially local enterprises, could help strengthen industries, create jobs and expand opportunities for young people.

He further emphasized the need for long-term planning and strategic collaboration between government, financial institutions and the private sector to ensure sustainable economic progress.

According to him, Ghana possesses enormous potential for economic growth, but achieving meaningful transformation would require commitment, innovation and deliberate investments in critical sectors.

He indicated that while several policy initiatives have been introduced over the years, implementation remains key to achieving the desired impact on businesses and the broader economy.

Mr. Owusu also underscored the importance of innovation and technology in modern business operations, stressing that organisations must adapt to changing global trends to remain competitive.

He encouraged businesses to embrace transformation, improve efficiency and invest in systems that would support sustainable growth and resilience.

The Deloitte Ghana Country Managing Partner further called for stronger partnerships among industry players, policymakers and civil society organisations to help drive reforms and promote inclusive economic development.

He said collaboration among stakeholders would be critical in building a stable business environment capable of attracting both local and foreign investment.

Mr. Owusu reaffirmed Deloitte Ghana’s commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at strengthening Ghana’s economy through innovation, strategic advisory services and business transformation.

He added that with the right policies and collective effort, Ghana could position itself as a leading destination for investment and economic growth within the sub-region.
