Ghana coach Otto Addo disappointed after Niger draw

By Lukman MUMIN, Accra

Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo has expressed disappointment following Ghana’s draw with Niger in the second Group F game of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Ghana remains winless after two matches in the qualifiers following a defeat and a draw in their opening games.

The four-time African champions were stunned by Niger after conceding another late goal following Oumar Sako’s scrappy finish to cancel Alidu Seidu’s opener.

Addo shared his frustrations with the team’s defending in the final ten minutes at the Stade Municipal de Berkane.

“Definitely not, I am not satisfied at all. I am really disappointed to be honest. We talked and we trained on set pieces, we talked about situations which could happen and the way they defended in the last 10
minutes was really, really bad,” he said after the match.

“I think in general we had the game under control. We allowed sometimes some counter situations where we don’t close the gaps really well and then we got the lead. I think from that point things were easier,” he
added.

Ghana will next face Sudan in a home-and-away clash in October.
