American tennis sensation Ben Shelton produced a strong comeback performance to beat Casper Ruud 3–6, 6–4, 6–3, 6–4 in the fourth round of the 2026 Australian Open, booking his place in the quarterfinals.
Shelton, who had dropped the first set, recovered impressively to dominate the remainder of the match and secure a crucial victory. The win sets up a mouthwatering quarterfinal clash against defending champion Jannik Sinner on Wednesday, January 28. “I have a lot more that I want to do here and I have a lot more to prove… I will be ready to go,” he said in the post-match press conference.
