World Cup qualifiers: Black Stars to face CAR at El Abdi Stadium in Oct

The Black Stars will continue their push for a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup when they face the Central African Republic in their penultimate Group I qualifier on Wednesday, 8 October 2025.

The crucial encounter is scheduled to take place at the El Abdi Stadium in El Jadida, Morocco.

The four-time African champions are aiming for a fifth World Cup appearance and know that maximum points against the Wild Beasts will be pivotal in keeping their qualification hopes alive.

Ghana currently sits among the leading contenders in the group, but with just two matches left to play, the margin for error is extremely slim.

Head coach Otto Addo is expected to name a strong squad, blending Europe-based stars with top-performing local talents, to ensure Ghana maintains its momentum.

The Central African Republic, however, cannot be underestimated, having caused surprises in recent qualifying campaigns.

Following the clash in El Jadida, the Black Stars will return home to face Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday, 11 October, in what could prove to be the decisive fixture in the group.

Both matches will be crucial in determining Ghana’s qualification fate for the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
