2025 Mid-year budget: Cedi has shown resilience in recent months — Finance Minister

Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has announced that the cedi has shown exceptional resilience in recent months.
Delivering the mid-year budget on Thursday, July 24, Dr. Forson highlighted that both interest and inflation rates have dropped significantly.
“We have made significant progress; the signs of recovery are visible,” he said.
The Finance Minister emphasized that the signs of economic recovery under President John Dramani Mahama are clear for all to see.
He added that when the Mahama administration took over, the economy was in distress, plagued by a weak financial sector riddled with non-performing loans and a derailed IMF program.
