14 Graduate from PK Amoabeng Leadership Foundation

Story: Abdulai, SAAKA, Accra
The PK Amoabeng Leadership Foundation hosted a memorable graduation and induction ceremony, marking a significant milestone in its mission to cultivate visionary leaders for Africa. The event celebrated the graduation of 14 scholars from the foundation’s inaugural cohort and welcomed 19 new inductees into its transformative leadership programme.
Founder Captain (Rtd.) Prince Kofi Amoabeng delivered a stirring address, reflecting on the foundation’s journey and his personal leadership philosophy. He recounted sleepless nights spent contemplating Africa’s leadership challenges, emphasizing that the root cause lies in a flawed societal mindset shaped by upbringing, environment, and poor leadership examples.

“The problem is leadership,” he asserted. “We need leaders who are disciplined, value-driven, and professional. Leadership is not about titles but about respect, integrity, and applying systems that work for everyone.”
Captain Amoabeng likened the development of exceptional leaders to specialized heart surgeons who undergo rigorous training. He emphasized that creating effective leaders requires intentional effort, not mere hope or prayer. This conviction led him to establish the PK Amoabeng Leadership Foundation, bringing together like-minded individuals committed to leadership development.
“We started with 20 young people selected from over 1,000 applicants,” he said. “Today, we are graduating 14 of them, and I can confidently say we are giving hope a chance. If these individuals are eventually placed in leadership positions, we will begin to see positive change.”

The keynote was attended by Mrs. Charlotte Osei, former Electoral Commissioner of Ghana, and other distinguished guests included Prof. Justice Bawole, Dean of the University of Ghana Business School; Dr. Jennifer Bruce-Koduah; Hon. Obuobia Darko-Opoku; and Pastor TK Mensah.
The ceremony featured musical and spoken-word performances by the Manifest Group, adding artistic depth to the occasion. The event was a celebration of potential, resilience, and the collective hope for a better future driven by competent and value-driven leadership.
Captain Amoabeng concluded with a heartfelt commitment to lifelong service:
“I will die empty. Whatever I have, I will give to the next generation so they can use it to better the world.” The PK Amoabeng Leadership Foundation’s Scholars Program continues to shape Africa’s leadership future, nurturing a new generation of transformative leaders equipped to tackle the continent’s pressing challenges.
