Former Ghana skipper Asamoah Gyan prepared to be Bawumia’s running mate

Former Ghana international Asamoah Gyan has expressed his willingness to serve as the running mate to NPP flagbearer, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
During a television interview, Gyan stated that he would gladly accept the opportunity if it were offered to him, considering it an honor.
Gyan, who currently holds the record as the nation’s top goal scorer, currently chairs the Sports Sub-Committee of the Vice President’s Manifesto Committee.
He has been appointed to aid the NPP flagbearer in formulating strategic sports policies aimed at advancing the country’s sports sector, should Dr. Bawumia be elected as President in the upcoming December presidential election.
“Honour is something everybody likes. I won’t reject it, but I know that’s big,” the former Sunderland forward said.
Gyan meanwhile clarified that while the question of becoming an NPP running mate was hypothetical, he remained dedicated to utilizing his wealth of experience and knowledge acquired throughout his years in football for the advancement of Ghana’s sports sector.
