Decathlon Ghana, a global leader in sports and outdoor equipment, has launched its newest store at Accra Mall.
As part of the brand’s expansion in Ghana, this location offers customers high-quality sports products and services under one roof.
The new store replaces the former Kawukudi branch and follows the earlier opening of a store at West Hills Mall in Kasoa earlier this year.
It features Decathlon’s extensive range of products covering over 50 sports, including cycling, football, running, hiking, and swimming.

Chief Executive Officer of Decathlon Ghana, Geoffrey Fadoul, described the event as more than just the opening of a store, calling it a celebration of a vision, a journey, and the unwavering resilience of a team that thrives in the face of challenges.
Fadoul noted the transformation of the Accra Mall location, emphasizing the significant effort involved in meeting Decathlon’s global standards.
He added that despite logistical hurdles, the team succeeded in opening the store ahead of Black Friday, ensuring minimal disruption with just two days of closure during the transition from Kawukudi.
The CEO underscored the potential of Ghanaian malls as hubs for retail success, expressing confidence in their capacity to enable brands to thrive.
He also stated that the new store now offers over 100,000 sports items across various categories.

Ebenezer Otoo-Bo Mensah, the Store Manager for Decathlon Accra Mall, reiterated the brand’s mission to make sports accessible and affordable for all.
“This is our second store opening this year. While it’s a relocation from Kawukudi to Accra Mall, it feels like a brand-new beginning,” he said. “Our mantra, ‘affordable for the many,’ drives us to cater to everyone—from ballet to football and fitness—all under one roof.”
He also revealed plans to expand beyond Greater Accra, with Kumasi earmarked as a key location for future operations.
“We aim to bring sports closer to all Ghanaians, with a series of expansions planned starting next year,” he stressed.
He added that partnerships remain central to Decathlon’s strategy.
Otoo-Bo Mensah highlighted the brand’s role as the official sports retailer for the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and its sponsorship of the Female Soccer League, providing apparel and cash prizes.
He also noted a growing interest in fitness and recreational sports among Ghanaians.
“We’ve seen private schools encouraging young girls to take up ballet, and we’re equipped to support this trend,” he said.
The store manager announced that to mark the launch and Black Friday, Decathlon is offering discounts of 10% to 50% on all products.
Decathlon is renowned worldwide for its commitment to innovation and affordability. It ensures that everyone regardless of skill level or budget can enjoy sports and stay active.
The Accra mall store will provide personalised customer service, allowing shoppers to test products and receive expert advice on their sport’s needs. As Decathlon continues to expand across Ghana, it remains dedicated to creating opportunities for sports enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels.
