VistaJet facilitates China-Africa business ties

VISTAJET played a pivotal role in bringing together business leaders, heads of state, and government officials during the 9th Forum of China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), held from September 4 to 6 in Beijing.

The summit, which takes place every three years, alternates between China and Africa, focusing on expanding and deepening cooperation between the two regions.

According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), China has become Africa’s largest trading partner, with trade programs like the Belt and Road Initiative contributing to record-high trade volumes.

In 2023, Africa’s exports to China accounted for 20% of the region’s total, while imports from China made up 16%, resulting in a total trade volume of $282 billion. VistaJet, by expanding its private aviation network in China and Africa, has become a crucial player in strengthening business ties and fostering mutual economic growth between the regions.

At this year’s FOCAC summit, China reaffirmed its commitment to Africa by pledging nearly $51 billion over the next three years to support infrastructure projects and create 1 million jobs across the continent.

The announcement came alongside the recent Indonesia-Africa Forum in Bali, where Indonesia secured business partnerships worth over $3.5 billion, further highlighting Asia’s growing economic relationship with Africa.

VistaJet’s President for Europe and Africa, Philippe Scalabrini, emphasized the vital role private aviation plays beyond air mobility, stating that the company’s rigorous safety standards and global availability of aircraft make it the preferred choice for world leaders and business executives.

In 2023, VistaJet experienced a 35% year-on-year growth in membership in Africa, reflecting the increasing demand for its services, particularly for flights between Africa and China. VistaJet’s fleet, covering 96% of the world, includes popular aircraft such as the Challenger 605 for regional flights and the Global 7500 for long-haul travel. As the demand for private travel between Africa, China, and other parts of the world rises, VistaJet continues to be a key player in driving business opportunities and economic growth across regions.
