A Night of Sparkle, Joy, and Sustainability at Accra Marriott Hotel Tree Lighting Ceremony
The Accra Marriott Hotel, on Thursday, December 5, 2024, welcomed the festive season in an event marked by elegance, tradition, and an unwavering commitment to sustainability during its annual Tree Lighting Ceremony.
This year’s celebration broke new ground with the lighting of two Christmas trees, one of which was a 20-ft eco-friendly masterpiece crafted from over 300 plastic bottles by the hotel’s associates. This innovative tree demonstrated the hotel’s dedication to sustainability as the Marriott brand works towards achieving net zero by 2050.
The event attracted a vibrant mix of attendees, including members of the diplomatic corps, business leaders, local community figures, and loyal patrons of the Accra Marriott brand. Guests enjoyed an array of captivating performances, featuring opera singer Guy Bertrand, the Grace Choral Choir, the Accra Marriott Hotel Choir, ballet from the Mandy Fouracre Dance Academy at Pippa’s Gym, live painting by Yaw Safori, and a spoken word recital by Cromwell Sackey.
In his welcome address, Mr. Luciano Scelza, General Manager of the Accra Marriott Hotel, emphasized the hotel’s sustainability journey, spotlighting meaningful partnerships with organizations such as the Ghana Italian Women’s Association, Missing Children Ghana, and Design and Technical Institutes. He celebrated the collaborative efforts that have shaped the hotel’s legacy of excellence in hospitality, sustainability, and community development.
Mrs. Rebekah Obeng, Director of Sales and Marketing, took the opportunity to unveil an array of festive promotions, including signature festive cocktails available from December 15, 2024, to January 8, 2025, lavish Christmas and New Year’s dinners, brunches, and a spectacular New Year’s Eve Party.
Adding a touch of magic for the younger guests, Santa Claus made a special appearance, delighting children with gifts and creating unforgettable memories.
The event was hosted in the hotel’s gazebo garden, an enchanting space adorned with elegant holiday decorations that exuded warmth and festive cheer. Guests were treated to complimentary refreshments and holiday-themed treats, enhancing the celebratory atmosphere.
